Who is Mathias Foehr ?

Mathias Foehr has been practicing as an actuarial and IT consultant for more than twenty years. After a short activity with Deloitte, he set up his own consulting practice in 1991.

The evolution of financial markets and of the economy requires strategies to protect oneself against unforeseeable events. Antoine de Saint-Exupéry stated it: our task is not to foresee the future, but to enable it. Tools used are empirism and advanced statistical and probability calculation methods.

This explains why Mathias Foehr is also interested in new forms of money (regional currencies, secondary currencies, digital money).

He has held various actuarial and IT consulting mandates at the financial center of Luxembourg, for big industrial companies and for governmental administrations.

As an expert he sets up reports in judicial and out of court procedures.

Before starting a consulting career, Mathias Foehr was the representative of the manager in charge of the insurance subsidiary of the Banque et Caisse d'Epargne de l'Etat (BCEE).

He started his career in Munich at the Engineering Department of Munich Re.

Mathias Foehr is a founding member of the Luxembourg Actuarial Association (ALAC). He served as the President to ALAC from 1996 to 2005.

He taught IT audit and control at the university of Luxembourg from 1983 to 2005.

Mathias Foehr holds a Master Degree in Engineering from the Ecole Centrale de Paris.
